Regarding 8tv Ramadhan PSA.

This is my opinion on it.

            The first time i saw that ad on tv, yeah I thought its kinda a bit racist lah. A skimpy chinese girl in a bazaar ramadhan buying food. The message was for the 'chinese' or should we say 'non-muslim' to respect the holy month of ramadhan. As the ad went on, I was like, "hella, melayu islam sendiri pun wear skimpy outfits like that." So why with the chinese right?
               On second thought, I was okay with it because the point of the ad was to respect the month of ramadhan. Message itu untuk semua. Bukan untuk the non-muslim sahaja. That was how i saw it. Ingatan untuk diri sendiri jugalah. But Then, all of a sudden, perasaan racist that i felt masa first time seeing that ad, is obviously felt by a swarm of others.
                 Macam ni lah. You preach about being a Malaysian and being a non-racist. If that is what you want for malaysia then why complaint about the ad being insensitive? Kalau kaum melayu cakap pasal hal-hal sensitif, you guys saying malays are racist lots. Cina, melayu, india, iban ke, we are all Malaysian. Then why all of the sudden, wanna get emo pasal the ad? Its just using a person (which is Malaysian) to act a scene to send a message to others. That was it.
                Macam ni lah. Basic human rights said you ave the right to wear a singlet anywhere you like. Yes you could but to respect this holy month when you know its the holy month for us muslim, can't you just don't push that crap in our face? Ada sebab muslims must jaga aurat. Jaga pandangan. If you want to uphold your rights yes you could but please respect the others. Itu je kami pinta.
               But Then again, the ad can be viewed in a number of ways. Kita kena open-minded and think. Just think. Their intention was good. Just that people perceive certain message differently.
