Stories I like to keep

This is about what i did in Kuantan.

Last Thursday I went to kuantan with Ana for work. Yes work. We had a part-time nutritionist job for Abbot. A roadshow promoting their latest growing-up milk Gain EyeQ. We were the last station before the kids and their parents can get their goodie bag and medal. Our job was to educate the parents about nutrients needed for a child's brain development (DHA, AA, TAURINE, OMEGA 3, OMEGA 6 blablabla) and also answer their questions on anything regarding milk.
We had to tell the parents on the keperluan seharian nutrien anak mereka and also gave example of natural food sources that MOST of the parents do not have a clue of. Like sardine ada DHA. Makan pisang dapat zat besi. And question like "susu anmum tanpa gula, betul ke dik?" or "anak saya sembelit lepas minum susu ni, macam mana?" or "anak saya tak suka minum susu, jadi akak bagi multivitamin okay tak?", are some of the questions that we have to answer and guide the parents.
We worked 9am to 10pm from Friday to Sunday at East coast mall kuantan. Tired? Yes. Kaki memang bye-bye. Because kerja semua bediri banyak. Sunday je, tekak dah sakit. Because we were giving consultation at rapid speed to accommodate the crowd. Hectic but enjoyable. The kids were very excited. And awfully sweet. And super cute. Macam mana nak marahkan.
This part-time job was a blessing because dapat rasa jadi nutritionist in the real world. Give out nutritional advice. Practice on my PR and social skills especially with the children. It thought me a lot about being sabar and always think about the customer. Yelah walaupun penat, kita kena senyum and treat everybody as ceria as possible. Bila ada budak kecik excited nak kawan dengan kakak and peluk kakak amin kakak, sangat lembut hati jadinya. And bila ada parents yang really concern and listen to everything and after that salam and pat us in the back cakap, "terima kasih ya dik, sebelum ni akak tak tahu apa-apa, sekarang akak dah tahu, terima kasih sangat." Seriously, moving.
I know I am on the right career path. Helping people. Educate them. Improving their health and lifestyle. I know i did something good. Hopefully more opportunity awaits.

*Dah enroll nak jadi volunteer MAKNA. Looking forward to the September Programme.
